SUMMARY: Please join us for a free Acoustic Theory and Numerical Simulation Seminar with Dr. David R. Burd, Manager of Engineering and Technical Support at Free Field Technologies North America, an MSC Company. This one-day seminar will cover aero and vibro acoustic theory and an overview of the primary numerical methods for acoustic simulation including BEM, FEM, SEA and Ray Tracing. It will include the most important acoustic concepts and the physics underlying the most commonly used software tools in acoustic engineering. The course material draws from Dr. David Burd's teaching experience as well as from the long list of acoustic engineering projects conducted by Free Free Field Technologies over the past 14 years. The following topics will be discussed in this one-day technical seminar: 1. Introduction to Acoustics 2. The Six Key Acoustic Phenomena 3. Vibro-acoustics 4. Aero-acoustics 5. Numerical Methods in Acoustic ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr. David R. Burd is the Manager of Engineering and Technical Support for Free Field Technologies North America in Troy, MI, a subsidiary of Free Field Technologies, an MSC Company. David has experience in vibro and aero acoustic simulation, test, and measurement, and in acoustic software development for the aerospace industry. He taught Mechanical Instrumentation and Mechanical Experimentation courses for 6 years at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri – Rolla). He also has experience designing and implementing large scale data acquisition systems for acoustics and vibrations, and designing and building audio systems. BENEFITS OF ATTENDING: * FREE admission * USB memory stick containing all seminar files (includes 40+ hours worth of content) * Continental breakfast & lunch provided * Meet the experts * Acoustic best practices overview WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This seminar is appropriate for engineers and technical managers with backgrounds in structural and dynamics analysis; acoustic or vibration testing; acoustic, vibration or structural simulation; and computational fluid dynamics - who are interested in learning or better understanding acoustic theory and its applications. |
