The Asian Computational Fluid Dynamics Conference (ACFD) is
held once every two years. The first conference (ACFD1) was
inaugurated by Prof. Hui at Hong Kong in 1995, followed by
the successive conferences held in Tokyo (Japan), Bangalore
(India), Miyanyang (China), Pusan (Korea), Taipei (Taiwan)
and Bangalore (India). The major objective of ACFD is to
provide a common forum for exchange of new ideas and
experiences amongst the scientists and engineers from Asia
as well as other parts of the globe, who work on algorithms
and applications of CFD.
The ACFD8 will be held at Hong Kong SAR, China, during
January 10 - 14, 2010. The program includes invited keynote
lectures by distinguished experts from across the globe.
There will be a few plenary sessions and a large number of
parallel technical sessions spread over the conference
periods. In keeping with the tradition of previous
conferences, the conference will be open to those interested
in the wide range of fluid engineering and any subject
related to computational techniques in any field of
engineering. It is anticipated that the Eighth Asian
Computational Fluid Dynamics Conference (ACFD8) will provide
an opportunity for stimulation of the researchers as well as
for furthering cooperation among the investigators in CFD in
any engineering field.
Original papers which deal with all aspects of CFD either
qualitative and/or quantitative in nature are solicited.
Topics (include but not limited to):
* Navier-Stokes and Boltzmann Solvers
* New Algorithms and Numerical Schemes
* Grid Generation and Grid Adaptation
* Grid Free and Cartesian Methods
* Convergence Acceleration Schemes
* High Performance and Parallel Computing
* Micro and Low Reynolds Number Flows
* Turbomachinery and Internal Flows
* Supersonic and Hypersonic Flows
* Combustion and Reacting Flows
* Electrochemical Flows
* Bio Fluid Mechanics
* Multiphase Flows and Flows in Porous Media
* Turbulent Flows: Modelling and LES/DNS
* Multidisciplinary and Multi-objective Optimization
* Industrial Applications of CFD
Papers selected from ACFD8 will be submitted to
Communication in Computational Physics and International
Journal for Computational Fluid Dynamics for the possible
publications.
Papers will be selected based on extended abstracts of 2
pages (A4, single space, Times New Roman letters of 11 font
size) including figures and references. Papers submitted
should include the title of the paper, authors' names and
affiliations, a concise statement of the problem, method of
approach, results and discussion, and conclusions. Please
identify the corresponding author. Electronic submissions
are strongly encouraged. Template is available from the
conference website (http://www.me.ust.hk/~acfd8). Please
submit your abstract in a Word or PDF format to the ACFD8
Secretariat via ACFD8 website (online submission) or e-mail.
Please see the conference's website for details.
