CFD Events Calendar, Event Record #1055

Computational Fluid Dynamics for Industrial Applications
The major deterrents to the widespread use of CFD now are lack of trained manpower and availability of accurate, robust and versatile CFD software. The present course is designed to introduce and train participants in the use CFD for industrial applications. The theoretical lectures on CFD will be delivered by IIT Faculty and hands-on session will be handled by Zeus Numerix and C-DAC.
Date: May 1, 2006 - May 6, 2006
Location: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay Powai, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Organizer: IIT Bombay
Softwares: CFDExpert Zeus Numerix
Deadlines: April 15, 2006 (registration)
Type of Event: Workshop, International

Description:

IIT Bombay, its incubatee company Zeus Numerix (a Private
Limited Company)(www.zeusnumerix.com)and C-DAC
(www.cdacindia.com) have a goal to reach CFD for industrial
R&D by alleviating deterrents in the wide spread use of CFD
in industrial applications. Zeus Numerix has distinct
capabilities that are very unique: it offers end-to-end CFD
solutions; has its own in-house industry standard CFD
software CFDExpert, and it markets its own software
products
and services in India and abroad. C-DAC has a mission to
emerge as the premier R&D Institution for the design,
development and deployment of world class IT solutions for
economic and human advancement.

Lectures:Essentials of Fluid Mechanics, Fundamentals of CFD
ingredients, Status of CFD in Engineering, Modeling the
computational domain, Creating the meshes, Pressure and
density based algorithms and their use in solving
industrial
problems, setting-up the CFD execution, monitoring and
interpreting the results, validation of CFD results and
report preparation. Hands-on Training by Engineers from
Zeus
Numerix: Use of CFDTutor, for understanding the CFD cycle
for novice user followed by use of CFDExpert, on problems
in
autoindustry, energy, mixing, ventilation studies,
turbomachinery, IC engines, aerospace and marine
applications, etc. depending on the background of the
participant.
