Description: | |
As Modelling and Simulation (M&S) is penetrating the aerospace sciences at all levels, this two day course will introduce you to the difficult subject of modelling aerospace vehicles in six degrees of freedom (6 DoFS). Starting with the modern approach of tensors, the equations of motion are expressed in matrices for compact computer programming. Aircraft and missile prototypes will exemplify 6 DoF aerodynaimc modelling, rocket and turbojet propulsion, actuating systems, autopilots, guidance and seekers. These subsystems will be integrated step by step into full-up simulation. The key topics will be, Introduction to modelling with tensors. Kinemetics and dynamics of 6 DoF aerospace vehicles. Modelling of aircraft and missile subsystem: aerodynamics, propulsion, actuating, guidance, and seekers. Demostration of aircraft and missile 6 DoF simulations. Instructions for building your own 6 DoF simulations. Event would be conducted by Dr Peter Zipfel. Dr Zipfel is an adjunct Professor in the University of Florida. He has 40+ years of experience in modeling and simulation of Aerospace vehicles. He is also author of several books and international papers on this subject including many of them published by AIAA. His homepage can be viewed at http://www.reef.ufl.edu/Faculty pages/Zipfel/Zipfel.htm |
