Description: |
This course gives an overview of internal and external
applications. It then details the different CFD methods
which can be applied to each of the wide ranges of flow
types present. The methods will be discussed in terms of
range of applicability, expected accuracy and computational
expense. In addition, a series of case studies demonstrating
appropriate use of CFD methods in automotive design will be
presented. Finally, hands-on experience is gained using the
commercial software FLUENT and a panel method (for rapid
assessment of aerodynamic loading).
