Webinar: Simulation in Biomass and Biofuel
March 27, 2008
1:30 pm EST
Biomass is increasingly being used as a fuel in electric
power generation, particularly in combination with coal
furnaces. While this is a renewable energy source, air
pollution problems such as nitrous oxides remain, and
combustion simulation is a critical component of biomass
furnace design and retrofit. Additionally, technology to
derive liquid fuel from biomass is receiving attention and
significant venture capital. Significant challenges are
faced in scaling biological processes from laboratory to
pilot to industrial levels. Unit process simulation can
eliminate much of the guess work, time, and expense involved
in scale-up.
Who should attend?
Engineers and engineering managers working on the technology
development and use of biofuels, including both combustion
and biological process optimization.
