This workshop concentrates on how simulation impacts design and how to improve your simulations through Multidisciplinary Design Exploration.

Guest speaker: Brian Lizotte, Ford Motor Company, will present "Automotive Turbochargers Compressor Surge Prediction using Computational Fluid Dynamics."

In addition, simulation experts will explore the following topics through presentations and demonstrations:

  • Piston bowl optimization
  • Engine conjugate heat transfer (CHT) including coolant flow
  • Cosimulation to reduce thermal transient runtime
  • Applying adjoint solver on intake/exhaust systems
  • Crank case ventilation
  • Turbochargers
  • Water pump optimization
