Micro turbines represent a promising solution to the continuing global search for more reliable, affordable and safer access to cleaner energy. They meet this environmental challenge by producing enough distributed combined-heat-and-power (CHP) to satisfy residential- level demands for heating and electricity. In addition, they must produce emissions and noise at acceptably low levels.

This webinar focuses on how CFD/CHT simulation was used to discover better designs faster, ultimately yielding a highly reliable and cost-efficient micro turbine capable of generating 3kW of power.

Topics to be covered during this event include:
  • Simulations included heat transfer in addition to flow dynamics.
  • Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) was used to develop and evaluate the heat management of the GT system.
  • Product-level performance was better understood by doing simulation on the complete system, including the combined housing, rotor, radial turbine and radial compressor – not just individual components separately.
GUEST SPEAKER:
Dipl.-Ing. Rene Braun of B&B-AGEMA is our special guest for this webinar. B&B-AGEMA in Aachen, Germany, is established as an independent engineering company. The company enjoys a worldwide reputation with over 20 years of experience in the research and development of components and innovative design of turbomachinery and power plant technologies.
