Description:

We are pleased to invite you to a complimentary workshop that will help you Discover Better Reactor Designs, Faster!

Guest speaker Dr. Emilio Baglietto will discuss the development of a computational approach that is being incorporated with the ability of implementing full scale detailed models of reactor designs. These high quality, large scale models will incorporate validated multiphysics in order to predict complex multi-leveled interactions in the early stage of the design.

OTHER GUEST SPEAKERS INCLUDE
  • Dr. Afaque Shams, Research Consultant at NRG
  • Dr. Nicolas Goreaud, Section Manager at AREVA NP
TOPICS COVERED:
  • Reactor Fuel Simulations
  • Flow and Thermal Mixing
  • Steady and Unsteady Flow Phenomena
  • Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI)
  • Multiphase Flow and Boiling
  • Virtual Reactor Modeling
  • Transportation and Storage

The nuclear industry worldwide is rapidly progressing from the application of slower, more costly conventional methods relying on experimental correlations to using CFD for faster design exploration with small component design, large components, and full-plant analysis. This workshop will demonstrate how CFD simulation and modeling have become critical components for examining and adapting new designs, reducing operational costs, and guiding regulatory priorities and practices in the civil nuclear industry and military applications.

This workshop will include a short demonstration of STAR-CCM+®.

This workshop is free, but registration is necessary as space is limited. Visit our event page for further details.
