Description: |
RTO-AVT-VKI Lecture Series
This Lecture Series aims at providing state-of-the-art information on the applicability and potential of inverse methods in the field of heat transfer analysis. Advanced designs of industrial and military devices require accurate predictions of the governing heat transfer mechanisms taking place. In many situations, the phenomena are so difficult to investigate with conventional measurement approaches that inverse analysis is the only alternative. In view of this, the objectives of the course are threefold : to understand the physical phenomena governing heat transfer, to describe models of inverse methods in heat transfer and to present illustrative applications with determination of convective heat flux and thermal properties of materials.
