ETMM6 - ERCOFTAC Int. Conf. on Engineering Turbulence Measurement and Modelling
The Conference is the first under the aegis of ERCOFTAC but it is the direct continuation of the successful ETMM conferences, and so it represents the 6th of this series. The ETMM conferences have been held every 3 years since 1990 in a Mediterranean location.
Date: May 23, 2005 - May 25, 2005
Location: Sofitel Timi Ama Hotel, Villasimius (Sardinia), Italy

Organizer: Dr. M. Mulas (CRS4, Italy) & Prof. W. Rodi (Univ. Karlstuhe, Germany)
Application Areas: Aerospace, General CFD, Hydraulics
Special Fields: Turbulence Modeling, Turbulence - LES Methods, Multiphase Flows, Aerodynamics, Measurement Techniques, Boundary and Interior Layers, Fluid Mechancis
Deadlines: May 1, 2004 (abstract), January 10, 2005 (registration)
Type of Event: Conference, International

Description:

Turbulence is still one of the key issues in tackling engineering flow problems. These problems are solved more and more by CFD analysis, the reliability of which depends strongly on the performance of the turbulence models employed. As in other fields of Science, in the rapidly developing discipline of turbulence, swift progress can be achieved only by keeping up to date with recent advances all over the world and by exchanging ideas with colleagues active in related fields. The objective of this conference, which can be regarded as the 6th in a series of successful ones held at Mediterranean locations, is two-fold: Firstly, to provide a detailed account of the status of turbulence research, with particular emphasis on industrial applications and requirements; and, secondly, to provide a forum where a critical mass of scientists with different backgrounds and interests (experimental/theoretical, academic/industrial) can exchange ideas and generally interact.
