Description: |
The purpose of the course is to provide state-of-the-art information on numerical simulation of multi-phase flow phenomena occurring during industrial processes. After a review of basic consideration and fundamentals concerning the conditions leading to formation of different phases, the different modelling techniques and numerical methods for several types of multi-phase flow will be presented. Emphasis will be then given to the advanced numerical tools available to deal with thermohydraulic behaviour of two-phase flow. Lectures will be dedicated to exemplify industrial applications such as jet flashing, electrolysis, spray drying, bubble column, free surface simulation and fluidized beds. The lecture series is an applied course addressed to the industrial R&D engineers and laboratory researchers.
