Description: | |
XXVI CILAMCE - Iberian Latin American Congress on Computational Methods - October 19 to 21, 2005 – Guarapari - ES, Brazil 2nd. Symposium on ADVANCED TURBULENCE MODELING FOR INDUSTRIAL CFD Chair: Marcelo J.S. DeLemos (ITA), delemos@ita.br; Co-Chair: Edimilson J. Braga (ITA), braga@ita.br Scope and Objectives of the Symposium From its origins as a tool primarily for use in fundamental aerodynamics, usage of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) has spread to a wide range of fields such as Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Oil & Petroleum) and other Basic Sciences (Thermal Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Geological and Environmental Sciences). Each subspecialty has made its own advances on the state of the art, but in spite of the ever increasing use of CFD Technology in the academia and industry, Turbulence Modeling continues to be an important challenge to reliable and accurate computation of industrial flows. The purpose of this symposium is to bring together researchers in the field of Turbulence Modeling to evaluate recent progresses, anticipate future modeling requirements and preview future research directions. Emphasis will be given to applications and solution of Industrial Problems. Authors are invited to participate in this event to expand national cooperation, understanding and dissemination of recent advances in the general area of Turbulence Modeling. A variety of topics are available for paper submission as it allows flexibility to the authors. Contributors are solicited to send their papers covering but not restricting to the following topics:
